Separate the sales brief from the survey
An inquiry establishes product preferences and approximate dimensions. A site survey establishes the measured installation inputs. Store the source and verification state of each dimension so a salesperson's provisional footprint cannot become a released installation specification by accident. Attach unresolved mounting, access and interface questions to the project.
Give each stage an owner
Give inquiry review, estimating, survey and release one responsible person each. Define the information that lets the project pass to the next stage: a survey-ready brief needs the chosen product, address, access questions and measurement gaps. An installation booking needs the accepted scope and the prerequisites your business requires. Request these records and transitions explicitly when defining the software.
Release a consistent installation record
The team needs the accepted configuration revision, relevant documents, included accessories and any approved changes. Agree which PDFs and component information the implementation produces and which documents come from your technical process. Test a changed measurement after quoting: sales, customer communication and the installation record must remain consistent.
