Use your checked workbook as the baseline
Excel provides spreadsheet calculation tools. Start with the workbook your team trusts and identify input units, formula owners and the price-list date. Include any validations, macros or review steps already in use. The comparison should expose a specific maintenance or quoting problem and preserve the calculations that are correct.
Test prices around a boundary
Choose a threshold from your own price list and quote dimensions just below, exactly at and just above it. Include a component priced by length, an accessory priced per item and an approved discount if your catalogue uses them. Compare rounding, quantities, SKU lines and totals. A matching grand total can still conceal different component calculations.
Change the price list after issuing a quote
Elite Aluminum's Configurix implementation includes automatic quotations with individual SKU lines. For your evaluation, ask how approved workbook formulas would become the quoting rules. Then update an accessory price and check a new quote alongside an already issued one. Compare who publishes changes, how colleagues receive them and how discrepancies are reviewed.
