Define every priced item
Document how each item is priced: per unit, length, area or package. For a hypothetical area-priced item with width and projection entered in millimetres, convert each dimension to metres before multiplying. A screen or glass opening may need its own measured width rather than the overall footprint. Test dimensions either side of a catalog threshold and reconcile the changed lines, including rounding and minimum charges.
Reconcile approved examples
Use quotes the commercial team has checked, including a standard unit, enclosed design and accessory-heavy project. Elite Aluminum's Configurix project demonstrates automatic quotation with individual item SKUs. Compare each line before the final total and assign approval of any pricing exception.
Maintain the price model
Name the owner of updates and re-run known examples when a catalog or formula changes. Separate current selections from issued commercial terms. A revised configuration or negotiated scope should produce an identifiable proposal revision rather than a manual correction that cannot be reproduced later.
