Define the cost and baseline
Include product modeling, rule preparation, commercial setup, connections, testing and ongoing maintenance in the evaluation. Calculate a workload baseline: monthly quote volume multiplied by average preparation time, plus correction and revision work. Record how much of that effort a pilot actually removes. Include the time staff spend maintaining the new catalog so the comparison captures operating cost as well as setup.
Separate economic benefit from cash
Time released from quotation work can provide useful capacity without reducing expenditure. Cash savings need a change in overtime, external spend or another identified cost. Model those categories separately, and do not include every hour released as guaranteed cash available to repay the implementation.
Test the Configurix scope
Use your own range and checked quotes to evaluate configuration, documents and the required handoff. Elite Aluminum and Tenteks Italia provide evidence of real implementation scope, not a forecast for your return. Compare a conservative scenario and review which assumptions need observation during a pilot.
